Privacy policy
Civics Go · Last updated October 12, 2026
Civics Go does not collect your personal information. Your study data stays on your iPhone.
What we collect
Nothing. Civics Go has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting. We do not run a server that receives your data, and we do not sell or share data with anyone.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your answers, scores, streaks and study plan.
- Your settings, such as your language, interview date and filing date.
- Answers you write down for your N-400 practice.
This data is stored only in the app on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.
When the app uses the internet
- Looking up your officials. If you enter a ZIP code, the app sends it to house.gov and usa.gov to find your representative, senators and governor, and downloads the public list of current senators from GitHub. Nothing else is sent. These sites have their own privacy policies.
- Speech recognition. When you answer out loud, your iPhone turns your voice into text. On most iPhones this happens on the device. If your iPhone can't do it on the device, Apple processes the audio under Apple's privacy policy. We never receive your recordings.
Permissions
The microphone and speech recognition are used only while you practice answering out loud. Notifications are used only for the study reminders you choose. You can turn each off in the iPhone Settings app.
Children
Civics Go is made for adults preparing for naturalization and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
